In this Keyword Blueprint review I take a closer look at this brand new tool and show you exactly how you can use it to uncover high value and profitable keywords.
Keyword Blueprint is a product that Tim Godfrey and Steve Clayton released with Commission Blueprint Two in September 2009. Having used Steve and Tim’s other products and courses, I expected nothing less than an excellent product from Keyword Blueprint.
The keywords you need vary depending on whether you are running a SEO campaign or a PPC (Pay Per Click) campaign, as such, the ideal keyword research tool would look at these aspects individually, not combined. This is exactly what Keyword Blueprint does and is the first thing that caught my eye. Most keyword research tools don’t have this option.
PPC keyword research starts by selecting a root keyword. Using that root keyword, Keyword Blueprint (KB) will then bring back a list of around 200 highly targeted keywords for your consideration. Each keyword has data for the number of daily clicks you can expect and an estimate for the cost per click.
You can easily expand on this keyword list and uncover more highly targeted keywords by clicking on any phrase in the list. This will perform a new search and add new keywords (but no duplicates to your list). You can then work through the list selecting keywords which you deem to be relevant and the run them through the Offer Evaluator.
The Offer Evaluator is one part of the tool that I really like. It shows you at a glance which keywords are going to be profitable for you based on assumptions for traffic levels and conversion rates. You can quickly find keywords which are going to be lucrative and those which you should discard.

The second half of Keyword Blueprint is the SEO (search engine optimization) keyword research tool. This encompasses many of the same features as the PPC keyword research tool but provides the information in a slightly different way. You can see at a glance the “value” of each keyword which is identified by looking at the total number of PPC advertisers using that keyword. The assumption here is that other advertisers wouldn’t be using the keyword if it wasn’t profitable.
See how I use Keyword Blueprint to perform SEO keyword research below:
Each keyword can be analyzed in more detail to identify how easy it would be to rank for that particular keyword. You can see very quickly which keywords are worth setting up SEO campaigns for and which are just going to be too much work.
All in all – Keyword Blueprint continues the run of extremely high quality products from Tim Godfrey and Steven Clayton. This tool is at the cutting edge of keyword research and for once combines all the aspects of keyword research into an easy to use.
